In 1998, Playing Mantis brought back one of the most popular action figures of the 1960's -- CAPTAIN ACTION, modeled after the popular Ideal figure line!! Captain Action is considered by most to be the first super-hero action figure!
Complete with accessories, kid sidekick (Action Boy, renamed "Kid Action"), and adversary in the form of the original DR. EVIL, the company produced the figures and some of the costumed accessories that made collecting the figure fun for people of all ages. Unable to secure the DC and Marvel licenses for the costumes of their characters, the line, referred to as the "First Issue" (of the Playing Mantis line), ended in 2000, making these figures, MINT IN BOX within their box sets, something of a treasure to own.
